Hello Food Nanny Members!

Don’t forget this Thursday is our $5 Buffet for Mills Breast Cancer patients. Thank you for those of you who have left a donation towards the cause in your coolers.  Hours are from 11-2 and the Sweet Adelines will be here to entertain you while you consume lots and lots of food! We’ve got more tomatoes coming in today…Jared and Francisco are going to kill me! But at least it’s only 100#s and you will all benefit from it. Now, let’s get on with your meals…

Meal A

Mixed Greens
Poblano Corn Chowder

potatoes, corn, poblano peppers, celery, carrots, onion, garlic, cilantro, milk, corn stock, sea salt, pepper, cumin, butter

Cilantro and Garlic Hummus with Pita Bread

Hummus is made with chic peas, tahini, garlic, cumin, cilantro, olive oil, lime and salt.  Pita is made with flour, yeast, salt, olive oil and water

Salted Caramel Brownies

I would highly recommend a tall glass of ice cold milk for this.     Butter, chocolate, sugar, vanilla, egg, flour, baking powder, caramel sauce and flaked salt

Meal B

Chuck Roast with Gravy or Stuffed Acorn Squash with Fingerling Potatoes and Green Beans

This is a “man’s” dinner….meat and taters! The chuck roast was seasoned with olive oil, sea salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, basil and paprika. The gravy is just the drippings from the meat while cooking with olive oil and flour. The Acorn Squash was brushed with maple syrup and cinnamon before going into the oven. It is stuffed with a cranberry wild rice mix. The potatoes are seasoned with salt, pepper, olive oil, thyme and rosemary. The green beans are seasoned with olive oil, sea salt and pepper.
