Hello Food Nanny Members!

Don’t forget to let us know if you need any help with desserts or the whole kit-n-kaboodle for Thanksgiving!  We would be more than happy to help make your holidays a bit easier on everybody.  This Thursday is the $5 Eastern Illinois Food Bank Backpack Program Buffet.  Come join us if you can get away.  Hours are 11-2. Also, the Holiday Market is going on inside Lincoln Square Mall every Saturday til Dec. 21 from 8-1.  That’s about all I have for this week, so let’s just get to your meals.

Meal A

*Mixed Greens

Vegetable Rice Soup – vegetable broth, brown rice, carrots, celery, zucchini, garbanzo beans, onion, potatoes, bay leaves, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, parsley and paprika

The Best Rolls Ever!  –  Warm these up and slap some butta on them and oh my goodness…. where the bread gods with me today or what!    flour, milk, water, eggs, sugar, yeast, butter

Root Beer Bundt Cake – butter, flour, root beer, cocoa powder, bittersweet chocolate, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, allspice, eggs, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla

Meal B

Glazed Ham with Smoked Gouda Scalloped Potatoes or Spinach Casserole with Roasted Fingerlings with Carrots – Our meat eaters are receiving ham glazed with apple butter, BBQ sauce, brown sugar and mustard.  The scalloped potatoes are made with flour, milk, smoked gouda, salt and pepper.  The carrots are seasoned with olive oil, sea salt and pepper.  For our veggie eaters, we decided to make you a spinach casserole made with butter, cheddar cheese, Monterey jack cheese, flour, milk, eggs, salt, baking powder, Dijon, pepper, nutmeg and red pepper.  We didn’t want to clog you guys up with a lot of cheese, so instead of scalloped potatoes we made you all some roasted fingerlings seasoned with olive oil, sea salt, pepper and thyme.

Where did your food come from?
*Central Lean, Blue Moon Farm, Common Ground, Family Health Food Store, Kilgus Farm, Coil Farm
